A Life Worth Living Is a Life Full of Learning

Expand your mind and you expand your horizons.

When I was in school, I couldn’t wait to graduate. Life was outside, and it was passing by.

I was so over teachers, reading assignments, and writing research papers.

Once I was out in the workforce, I had time for a social life, movies, hanging out in front of the tv. All those things I pushed to the side while in school.

As I grew older and raised my family, I started reading life lessons and motivational books and homeschooling my kids. This combination revealed a love of learning I hadn’t realized.

Learning is something you should never outgrow.

I am on the cusp of turning 56, and the more I learn, the more I realize how much there is to know.

Education isn’t something you find only in a building or books.

Today, learning takes place everywhere. You can get self-improvement books and take masterclasses and never leave home.

Libraries and colleges offer low-cost or free classes to their community.

Part of aging is learning and growing.

And I don’t mean the kind measured on a door frame. Growth comes from learning and enables us to expand our horizons and appreciate different perspectives. We learn to push our boundaries from what we can do today to what we will do tomorrow. We become enlightened to the world and ourselves, giving us the ability to learn from our mistakes, make better decisions and continue to grow as human beings.

“Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere.”
— Chinese Proverb
